Student Assaulted Near School

Police said a student was walking near Stenton Avenue and Yerkes Street Friday when he encountered a man he didn’t know standing on a street corner.

“Last time you didn’t give me anything,” the man said to the student. He then threw his book bag to the ground, opened it and took several notebooks before fleeing.

There have been a couple of other assaults near the school this year.

Just another reason to carry self defense products such as stun guns or pepper sprays as this situation could have ended very different.

Police Continue to Investigate Alleged Rape of Great-Grandmother

Law enforcement stated they’re moving forward to check into a family sexual assault in Mt. Airy, however they will not affirm whether or not an arrest had been made in this case. The dad of the women’s great grandchild presumably raped the great grandmother on November 17 around the 6600 block of Musgrave St, based on law enforcement reports. Since this is a family situation, Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit Capt. John Darby stated he cannot get into details about the issue. That is because these types of accusations, he explained, do not have an impact on public safety. It’s a domestic matter, he explained. He also stated all of the people involved have been identified and the investigation is in process. Normally, Darby stated, there is a time lag time as SVU is waiting to get laboratory reports. He additionally stated the DA’s office will ultimately deal with the investigation. Darby states it is one of those issues in which we will perform an extensive investigation. It takes time, because of the circumstances to which the claim has been created.

Police Use Taser on Man Who Threatened Friend

Based on a law enforcement agency document, the offender had just been released from Friends Hospital when he began informing his buddy that he did not make a lot of money. They were around the One hundred block of East Washington Lane.

He then threatened his buddy along with a steak knife, reported by law enforcement officials, and also told his buddy he was planning to kill him. Law enforcement officials showed up and stated the offender was not cooperating with them. They then utilized a taser to subdue him.

Just another example of a stun gun doing it’s job!
