Police said a student was walking near Stenton Avenue and Yerkes Street Friday when he encountered a man he didn’t know standing on a street corner.

“Last time you didn’t give me anything,” the man said to the student. He then threw his book bag to the ground, opened it and took several notebooks before fleeing.

There have been a couple of other assaults near the school this year.

Law enforcement stated they’re moving forward to check into a family sexual assault in Mt. Airy, however they will not affirm whether or not an arrest had been made in this case. Based on a law enforcement agency document, the offender had just been released from Friends Hospital when he began informing his buddy that he did not make a lot of money. They were around the One hundred block of East Washington Lane.

He then threatened his buddy along with a steak knife, reported by law enforcement officials, and also told his buddy he was planning to kill him. Law enforcement officials showed up and stated the offender was not cooperating with them. They then utilized a taser to subdue him.
